If you’re hungry for something that will improve energy and focus, Karen Ansel, author of “The Calendar Diet,” says the ultimate power lunch consists of chickpeas and green tea. She says chickpeas are the best food for brain function because they combine protein to keep you alert along with complex carbohydrates to fuel your brain. Because the carbs are digested slowly they give you a sustained energy release that keeps you energized and focused.
Karen also suggests washing down those chickpeas with iced green tea. It’s also great at improving concentration and focus with a small kick of caffeine.
