Do they like you - do they REALLY like you?
Social media friends have different standards than the real deal and you may risk losing them if you make too many of the following faux-pas:
* You don't respond to direct messages. Translation: I’m not interested. Ignoring someone, even on social media, is just plain rude.
* Enough about me, let’s talk about me. Self promoting and one-sided spewing gets old, fast, and you risk coming across as self-absorbed. Go ahead and re-post something about something other than you.
* I swear! Foul language is a big turn off to a lot of people and just suggests you’re lacking in vocabulary and communication skills.
* Too safe. Avoiding anything even mildly controversial gets boring. Don’t be afraid to get a little edgy once in a while to keep them interested. People like to chime in when you open up the dialogue or some friendly debate.
