What’s the difference between right and left handed people?
More than you might think. Social scientists have been studying them both and discovered which have the upper hand:
• Lefties may be more at risk for learning disabilities than righties with higher rates of dyslexia, ADHD and mood disorders.
• Lefties are better at divergent thinking, which make them good candidates for politics and chess players.
• Lefties tend to be better at baseball too because they’re a few steps closer to first base with better momentum after the swing. Southpaw boxers and tennis players may have the upper hand as well.
• Righties make more money than lefties. That’s because they’re more likely to complete college and tend to score higher on math and reading comprehension tests.
