What’s so great about antioxidants? Not that much...

It’s got antioxidants so it must be good for you - right? Wrong...

Some nutritional experts say we’re totally overdoing it in the antioxidant department. Antioxidants are friendly molecules that go to task on evil free radicals. That’s all good - but as with anything, too much of a good thing can leave your body working to hard to process it all. Flooding your body with antioxidants, especially in supplement form, could do more harm than good.

Antioxidants have been credited with helping to prevent all sorts of problems from aging and vision loss, to cancer, heart disease and stroke - but how much they actually help is still up for debate. Consumers gobble up products containing the buzz word “antioxidant” and the nutritional and food industries LOVE that. Just remember there’s no evidence they actually cure anything and the best way to get them is naturally.
