If you like to download stuff, you need to know about the new Copyright Alert System...

Dowloaders beware!

Your Internet provider can tell if you download something illegally. Last week, the CAS went into effect. That’s the new Copyright Alert System put in place by the film and recording industry. It’s a warning system that can detect if you’ve illegally downloaded something and you’re identified through your IP address.
Passwords don’t protect your identity and if you do the dirty download, you’ll receive a warning from your Internet service provider. If you continue to download illegally, your provider might temporarily reduce your Internet speed, downgrade your service, or even block your Web access.

If your Wi-Fi network is unprotected by a password, you need to change that. You will be held responsible for any illegal downloading over your network, even if it's not done by you.
