March is the best time to get them because the pro shops are filling up with new models and last year’s have got to go before the season is in full swing. Here are some other great buys in the month of March:

• Luggage: We’re between vacation seasons right now. Luggage sales are slow and prices on suitcases, carry-ons and duffels are at their lowest.

• Frozen food: March is National Frozen Food month, really. Check your frozen food aisle for special deals to celebrate.

• Video games: The hype is dying down on those new releases timed for the holidays. The prices are dying down too. 

• Ski and snowboard equipment: It’s the tail end of the season and the last chance for retailers to sell their stuff, especially at resorts and rental shops.
