Top 10 Manners for Kids

With each generation – we seem to lose a few manners...

Parents Magazine has a list of the 10 manners we MUST teach our kids - if we want them to succeed:

1. Please and thank you – they are STILL the magic words.

2. Do not interrupt grown-ups unless there is an emergency. If you must, say “excuse me.”

3. Keep negative comments and opinions to yourself.

4. Never use foul language in front of adults. Grown-ups already know all those words, and they find them boring and unpleasant.

5. Do not make fun of anyone for any reason. Teasing shows others you are weak.

6. If you bump into somebody, immediately say "Excuse me.”

7. As you walk through a door, look to see if you can hold it open for someone else.

8. Use eating utensils properly. If you’re not sure – watch what adults do.

9. Keep a napkin on your lap.

10. Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze, and don't pick your nose in public.
