Dried Apples

Add some dried apples to that shopping list...

An apple a day – dried – is just what the doctor ordered! A recent medical study had participants eat dried apples every day for a year. That addition to their diet had some amazing results:

• Bad cholesterol fell 23%.
• Levels of inflammation linked to heart disease and cancer dropped too.
• Overall weight dropped by a few pounds.

Dr. Bahram Arjmandi, author of the study, said he knows of no one drug that can do all of the things the dried apple regiment accomplished. Raw apples and apple juice are really good too – but dried apples are a condensed source of sugars, protein, fiber and iron.
