More Grass - Less Weed

Grab a ruler and measure your grass!

It’s tempting to cut that grass as short as you can – but we’re better off leaving some length. About 4 inches is best. If your grass is too short, your weeds will thrive. They’ll soak up more sun and outgrow the grass. By raising the blades of your mower a bit, you could slow down the sprouting of weeds a lot.

Consider watering your lawn a little less too. The more water it gets, the shorter the roots will stay. If the grass is thirsty, you’ll force those roots to grow deeper.
