Making an Entrance

The next time you make your entrance – make it count.

We make an impression every time we enter a room. Joe Navarro, retired FBI counterintelligence, says stride in with confidence. Pausing, even for a moment to get your bearings, conveys uncertainty. Chin up, expose your neck. That’s something primates don’t do when they feel threatened.

Once you’ve claimed your territory, Joe says keep your thumbs out of your pockets – that makes you look insecure. Hands in the pockets are okay – but preferably just one, not both.
