Who is more likely to say “I love you” first – a man or a woman?
More men say it first! I love you. According to a study in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology – two thirds of men in heterosexual relationships take that verbal plunge before their partner. The men have the women beat by about six weeks in the I-love-you department.
The study also determined there were some potential strings attached to those three little words. The men admitted offering the verbal intimacy with hopes of a physical payoff, while the women were more likely to take the opposite approach.
