White Wine Wisdom

Is it ever good etiquette to put ice in your wine?

Do you put ice cubes in your white wine? Horrors! That’s not considered proper wine etiquette. However – go right ahead and do it if it’s not a great wine. Lowering the temperature of wine takes a lot of the flavor out. Cheap white wines might be too sweet or acidic and a cube or two can take the edge off.

If you’re serving white wine – it’s best to chill it ahead of time in ice water, not cubes – then ditch the bucket. If you’ve ordered white wine, go ahead and give it a taste BEFORE you add ice and change the flavor completely.
