Women over 50 may be able to get away with some younger trends than they used to...
...but some fashion rules still should apply. Gerit Quealy, author of “50 Things to Do When You’re 50,” has 5 over 50 fashion don’ts to consider:
• Asymmetrical hems: They might look edgy on the younger crowd, but over 50 they just look unkempt.
• Sky-high, strappy or studded shoes will make you look more like a dominatrix than a trendsetter if you’re over 50.
• Micro mini-skirts: Even if you’ve still got the legs for it – you’ll likely make other people feel a little uncomfortable.
• Crop tops: Showing off your great abs over 50 should be reserved for the beach at best.
• Super-sheer shirts: They're in the Juniors department – for a reason.
