If you’ve got a big decision to make – try something new...

Sleeping on it can actually be a pretty effective technique when it comes to decision making...

 According to Psychologist Ilona Tobin, it can really provide some clarity. If you write your issue out before going to bed, your dreams that night could even provide some insight. If that doesn’t work, Dr. Tobin has some less conventional decision making techniques to try:

• Dance on it. Consider and dance to each option. Which feels better in your body? Which flows through you more fluidly?

• Sing to it. Make up a song about the decision. You may be surprised by what comes out.

• Draw or collage it. Consider each option in pictures. The most attractive one may suddenly become obvious.

The good old coin toss is probably the most utilized technique out there. Go ahead and use it. Just remember the decision does not necessarily rest on heads or tails – but on your gut reaction when one is revealed – go with your gut.
