Do you prefer skinny or fat glasses for drinking?
You’ve probably heard that we should all be eating off of smaller plates. What we think of as a salad plate should really be what our main course is served on. The same holds true for drinking. A recent study found people pour 37% more liquid into a short wide glass than a tall skinny one of the same volume. And those cereal bowls probably need to go too. It’s no surprise kids pour twice as much cereal into that 16 ounce bowl than the 8 ounce bowl we should be using.
If you’d rather just keep the supersized stuff and fill them up less – good luck. Most of us just feel less satisfied with all that blank space and usually head back for seconds. Studies show we can lose up to two pounds a month by downsizing our dinnerware.
