Did you grow up believing it’s illegal to kill a praying mantis?
Chances are, you’ve never known anyone who’s done hard time for killing a praying mantis. That’s because it’s NOT against the law – contrary to what you may have been told as a kid. That rumor started floating around in the 1950’s – and to date, nobody has copped to starting it.
Most of us believed it was because the praying mantis was on the endangered species list. Wrong again! They’re not. They are very cool and useful insects and they really don’t harm us in anyway. And, after all, who wants to kill something that’s praying?
