Bogus Coupons

How do you know that coupon is the real deal?

Coupons are hot commodities these days – and guess what – scammers are in on that now too. Counterfeit coupons are big money for crooks and a big rip-off for the rest of us. Here are some things to look for to make sure your coupon is the real deal:

• Check the logo. Manufacturers are very particular that a logo on a coupon is an exact match to the product. If it differs in color or design – it could be a fake.

• Check for typos or bad grammar. Counterfeiters are often prone to mistakes.

• Check expiration dates. Valid coupons usually have relatively short life spans. If it looks good for 6 months, a year, or longer – it could be bogus.

And of course – if it’s too good to be true it probably isn’t. Most valid manufacturers don’t offer stuff for free with a printable coupon on line.
