If you like peanuts – go ahead and eat some more...
A handful of peanuts make a great snack – and they’re really good for your heart too! Louis J. Ignarro, aurthor of “No More Heart Disease,” says that peanuts are the richest source of an amino acid that boosts our blood levels of nitric oxide. That can actually dilate arteries and lower blood pressure. The peanut dosage would be about a cup a day. However, that would be about another 800 calories we could do without. To get that nitric oxide level up - you can alternate the peanuts with peanut butter, salmon, shrimp and eggs. They’ve all got the same amino acid in there.
