Elephants remember and rats have a heart. Animal behavior...

Some animals have behavior we tend to associate with humans...

Here are a few emotions we share with some different species:

* Elephants really do mourn. When a beloved member of an elephant troop dies, those left behind not only bury the body with leaves and grass, they keep vigil for a week and return to visit the bones for years to come.

* Rats and other rodents have a heart. They have been observed grimacing when their friends were in pain and will refuse food if it requires hurting a loved one.

* Birds get jealous. When male bluebirds are out foraging to provide for their mate's nest, female birds have been known to cheat with another male. When the blue boy gets back, serious fighting and injury to the female may ensue.

* Dolphin really are kind. They have been known to help out other species in trouble, including humans, sharks and even stranded whales.
