Whole wheat bread is good for you, right? Wrong!

It’s bad enough we’re not supposed to be enjoying white bread anymore – but now we should be avoiding whole-wheat too?

According to William Davis, author of “Wheat Belly,” modern day whole-wheat has little in common with the truly natural grain. He says eating two slices of whole-wheat bread is not much different from eating a sugary candy bar. That’s because both white and whole-wheat bread increase blood glucose more than pure sugar.

Dr. Davis says modern wheat can actually be a potent appetite stimulant. High wheat diets can also weaken bones by leaching calcium from them and increase our risk of high cholesterol and heart disease.
