The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat – and the threat of germs...



If you’re headed to London this summer for the Olympics – keep your hands to yourself! 

The British Olympic Association has warned its athletes not to shake hands with other athletes, visitors and dignitaries due to fears of spreading illnesses. The Brits hope to improve their overall medal count this time out. BOA chief medical officer, Ian McCurdie, says it’s all about winning – and hygiene. Illness is one of the greatest threats to performance and they want to minimize that risk.
