You might as well face it you’re addicted to food. How to quit...

Most of us are addicted to some sort of food. Do you crave sugar, salt or carbs?

Knowing your weaknesses can help you curb your addiction. Sugar Savvy has the symptoms to help identify your trigger foods.

• Sweet and salty addicts can’t eat just one chip or cookie. They can control themselves during a meal but go overboard with snacks. They also tend to feel tired a lot. Sugar and salt addicts can significantly curb their behavior by reading labels and gradually tapering off their sugar and salt consumption.

• Flour addicts can skip desert, because they probably emptied the whole bread basket. They’re more apt to fill up on bagels, crackers, pasta or rice. They can curb their addiction by skipping refined foods. Flour and carb addicts can afford to replace some of their fixes with sweet treats since they’re not necessarily a trigger.

If all of the above leaves you craving more, you’re at risk becoming a full-blown food addict. It’s going to take smaller portions, plenty of water, fruits and vegies - and a lot more willpower to keep it in check.
