Do you know what happy people DON’T do?

If you know someone’s who is a genuinely happy person – chances are they don’t gossip.

That’s just one of the things happy people don’t do, according to Dr. Don Baker, author of “What Happy People Know.”  If you want to be happier, keep these happy habits in mind:

  • ·       Happy people don’t blame other people for their problems.  Playing the victim is not happy behavior.
  • ·       They don’t overreact when something bad happens to them.  Happy people are better at looking at long-term happiness.
  • ·       Happy people don’t use negative language. They rarely chastise themselves or insult other people, either out loud or in their internal self-talk.
  • ·       Happy people don’t focus on a single passion or relationship. They usually have multiple hobbies and social circles.
  • ·       Happy people don’t dwell on the past.
  • ·       Happy people don’t spend any more time than necessary around unhappy people.
  • ·       Happy people don’t gossip.  If they’re told something in confidence, it stays there.
  • ·       They also don’t complain to a third party.  They either let it go or handle it diplomatically face-to-face.
  • ·       Happy people don’t procrastinate. They usually get unhappy tasks over with so that they can move on to happier things.
