Could inexpensive sunscreen actually work better than the expensive stuff? Yes.

We’re supposed to wear sunscreen year round – all the more reason to buy the inexpensive brands.

A recent study by Consumer Reports found that three of the top-rated sunscreens just happened to be the least expensive generic store brands from Target, Walmart and Walgreens. Oddly enough, the least effective were the most expensive. Dermatologists say most of us don’t apply sunscreen liberally enough. Instead of saving money by dabbing on an expensive brand, save your skin by slathering on the more affordable and effective sunscreens.

Keep in mind, while some cosmetics have sunscreen built in, it’s usually not enough. You need at least SPF 40 on more than just your face.
