Is your doctor dirty? What they NEED to wash before they touch you...

Every good doctor washes his or her hands before touching you – but what about that stethoscope?

It could be crawling with germs. A recent study found that stethoscope tubes and diaphragms, or the metal part, were often contaminated with dangerous bacteria including MRSA. This is a big problem as some doctors, especially in hospitals, see hundreds of patients in different areas using the same, dirty stethoscope. Some doctors are very conscious of this – but not many. Related surveys found 70 to 90 percent of docs DON’T disinfect their stethoscope.
