Taking the trauma out of trying on bathing suits...

If you dread trying on bathing suits for this season – don’t do it in the store!

In a new study, Australian psychologist, Marika Tiggemann says women who tried on bathing suits in a store dressing room reported feeling more stress and shame about their looks and bodies than when they tried them on at home.

Marika says the changing room environment is the least flattering. Several mirrors, bright lighting and the close evaluation we are engaged in puts the pressure on and distorts how we really look. You’re better off trying a few suits on at home and returning the ones that don’t suit you.
