Take good care of that CD collection. Why they could soon be a thing of the past...

If you still prefer CDs to digital music – you might want to stock up...

A new report in Side-Line Music Magazine says most record companies will likely stop making CDs by the end of 2012. Apple and digital downloads have dominated the music retail industry in North America for the past three years and CD sales have plummeted. Industry experts also note that record stores are few and far between and can’t really compete in a download world.

The final blow for CDs may come in 2013 – when most new cars will no longer have built-in CD players.
