If you expect your kid to mow the lawn – there are a few things you MUST know first...

Mowing the lawn might seem like the perfect chore for your child or teen – but it’s a dangerous one...

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, far too many children under the age of 18 suffer serious mower injuries each year. Here are their basic recommended guidelines:

• No child younger than 12 should operate a walk-behind mower.

• No teen younger than 16 should drive a riding mower.

• Children should NEVER be allowed to ride along as passengers.

Learning to care for your lawn is good for your kids, just be sure to go over ALL of the safety precautions, more than once, even if they seem obvious to you.
