Where do you carry your cell phone? That's a bad spot!

Do you carry your cell phone in your pocket?

That could be a really bad place for it. According to Dr. George Carlo, public health scientist, we’re exposing ourselves to potentially harmful EMR – or electromagnetic radiation. He says because we don’t yet know the health risks our phones could be posing – we must be exercising every caution. Here are his suggestions:

• Avoid that hip pocket. The EMR could be lowering your upper-thigh bone density on that side.

• If you keep your phone in a purse – it should be on the side farthest from your body with the keypad facing in.

• The best place for your phone is at least 7 inches away from your body at all times.

• If you MUST use your cell phone – keep that EMR away from your brain: Wireless headsets – bad. Wired headsets with an air tube – better. Speakerphone – best.

• Turn off your cell phones while in metal enclosures. That would include planes, trains, automobiles – and elevators.

• Ask other passengers in the metal enclosure to turn off their phones too. Their EMR is bouncing all over you and everyone else.
