If you have a garlic peeler – throw that thing out!

If your kitchen drawers are cluttered – you probably have some stuff in there you really don’t need...

 Here is a list of gadgets to get rid of:

• Garlic peeler – just gently smash the clove with the flat side of a knife.

• Egg cracker – that’s what the counter is for.

• Egg separator – that’s what the shell is for.

• Avocado slicer – it’s more work than just cutting, twisting and scooping.

• Pizza shears – don’t bother. Stick to the wheel shaped cutter.

• Electric knife – using it once a year on Thanksgiving isn’t worth the space.

So which gadgets ARE worth keeping?

• An egg slicer is easier than dicing a slippery hard-boiled egg.

• A garlic press does leave less mess.

• Apple slicers or peelers can be nice – but skip the cheapo ones.

• Kitchen thongs – nothing else will do what they do.

• The pronged pasta scoop has earned its keep.
