Your next cup of Joe may give you a real jolt – in your wallet.

If you love coffee, you might want to stock up this week.

Prices are on the rise due to dry weather in Brazil. As consumers, we’re most likely to feel the java jolt in coffee shops so you might want to get in the habit of brewing your own for the foreseeable future.

The price of raw sugar is also on the rise, as Brazil is the biggest producer and exporter. Coffee shops who have to buy Arabica beans and sugar in bulk will most likely pass those price increases on to the customer, whether or not you take your coffee sweet. The price of Arabica coffee could increase as much as $2 per pound over the next month or so.
