If you wear one of those fitness wristbands – you might get more than you bargained for.

Fitness wrist and arm bands are popular gadgets for those who want to track their activity levels and vitals –

but you could wind up with a nasty rash. Fitbit, one of the leaders in fitness trackers, has recalled their wristbands after several complaints of users experiencing blistering, oozing rashes. They’re also offering a full refund. The blistery rash is a result of contact dermatitis and can occur with any jewelry or watch if the wearer is allergic to any of the metals or ingredients in there.

Anything strapped to your sweaty skin could pose a problem. If you’d rather not risk the fitness rash, there are some other trackers on the market that don’t come in contact with the skin, such as the FitBit Zip which clips on to clothing instead.
