Feeling down and sick of winter?

Get a flashlight and shine it in your ear! It might sound crazy but researchers have found this trick can stimulate the brain. Our ear canal is a light detector of sorts and shining a bright light in there can prompt the release of serotonin. It takes a while to get the full benefit. Any bright light will do and if you can get comfortable and let the light shine in your canal for eight minutes a day, you could reduce or even eliminate the effects of Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD. There are even some new ear buds and headsets on the market that contain bright LEDs to light up your brain.
