Most of us should work a little palming into our daily routines.

It’s a good idea to take some time out of your busy day and try palming for a few minutes.

It feels really good – and it’s good for you. Palming is an effective means of relief for Computer Vision Syndrome. If you spend a lot of screen time at work or at home – or even if you just have stressed out dry, winter eyes, palming is a yoga exercise for the eyes that can help remedy CVS and even improve visual perception. Here’s the palming protocol:

• Wash your hands.
• Sit comfortably and dim the lights if possible.
• Cup your palms tightly over each eye.
• Open your eyes and adjust your hands to be sure little or no light is getting in.
• Now close your eyes and relax for a few minutes.

While palming, take note of any ghost images you might see traces of with your eyes closed. When those fade and disappear, your palming session is complete. You have now reset your focus and given your tired eyes a much needed, moisturizing break.
