Flowers, candy and cards are flying off the shelves.
Here is what sweethearts are planning to give each other for Valentine’s Day 2014:
• 61% of men plan to buy flowers, which top the gift list from the guys, followed by cards and candy.
• 58% of women are browsing through the card aisle, trying to find just the right sentiment for Mr. Right. Most of them will be buying candy for their sweetie too.
• An evening out is next in line for both men and women looking to celebrate Valentine’s Day, followed by jewelry for her and clothing for him.
• Gift cards are at the bottom of the romantic heap. They have taken a dive in popularity since last year suggesting they’re not quite as thoughtful or personal.
