Could you be coming down with the flu – or is it just a cold? How to tell the two apart...

Cold and flu have some similar symptoms...

So how can you tell which one you’re stuck with? If it came on super-fast, it could be the flu. A cold typically moves in slowly over the course of a few days. Where does it hurt? If the symptoms are mostly from your neck up, in the throat, head and sinuses – it’s probably a cold. The flu will attack from the neck down first, with body aches, a cough and muscle fatigue.

If you are experiencing extreme exhaustion or a high fever – get to the doctor. That’s most likely the flu and not something you want to ride out. There are antiviral drugs that can help if you start treatment within 24 to 48 hours.
