If you’re a Debby Downer or a Bummer Bob – snap out of it! How to break the habit of negativity...

Some people are just more prone to negative thinking than others...

If you find yourself contradicting others, looking at the down side or frequently finding flaws – this could be you. Thomas Blakeslee, author of “The Attitude Factor,” says the first step on breaking the cycle of negativity is identifying the bad behavior. If you have trouble doing this, ask a friend – they’ll know. Do you…

• Dwell on bad relationships?
• Complain about family and friends?
• Alienate others?
• Feel slighted or underappreciated?

If you’re ready to break the cycle and get in on the fun, you’ll need to take some steps. Meet new people. We are social creatures by nature and most of us make the effort to be a bit more positive when making a first impression. That will get you moving in the right direction. Get out of your comfort zone. Breaking free of the daily grind will create new sensations, stimulate creative thinking and help to short-circuit those negative thoughts.
