Got a stomachache? What might have caused that...

Some of our favorite healthy foods can actually leave you with a stomachache...

Here is a list of some surprising triggers:

• Energy bars: They can be hard to digest and some of the ingredient can cause bloating and gas.

• Green tea: It’s high in tannins which can trigger nausea.

• Vegetable skins: Eggplant, bell pepper and potato skins can be difficult to digest. If you’re sensitive, you should peel those before eating.

• Grapes: Red and black grapes can produce natural gas. Green grapes are high in tannins.

• Nuts: The high fiber and fat content slows their movement through the digestive tract, which increases the risk for gas and bloating.

Most people with a sensitive stomach won’t have to avoid these foods all together. Consider eating smaller portions of them and drinking plenty of water between meals to avoid upset.
