Where do you buy your vitamins? Why that matters...

If you buy your vitamins in bulk at a warehouse club or chain pharmacy – you’re probably not getting your money’s worth...

According to Earl Mindell, author of “New Vitamin Bible,” we shouldn’t buy more than a two-month supply of vitamins at a time. It’s also important to check the dates on your vitamins before you buy them, because they will start to lose potency over time.

Dr. Mindell says the best place to buy vitamins is in a natural-foods store or vitamin and supplement shop. The best choices come in dark-colored containers, without artificial colors or preservatives. Once you get them home, be sure to store them in a dark, dry spot.
