Most of us tend to be preoccupied with the holidays in December – which makes it a good month to make your move on some other stuff...

December is a great time to: 

• Sign an apartment lease. Landlords aren’t seeing much action in December and are more likely to lower the rent.

• Enter a nursing home. It’s the least favorite month to do that – but those facilities will be bombarded with requests starting in January which could leave you on a waiting list.

• Book a hotel room. Many hotels are offer their lowest rates of the year right after Christmas.

• Find a new job. According to ExecuNet, many recruiters place even more candidates in December. January is the toughest and most competitive month to land a job.
