Should you eat your shrooms cooked or raw?


If you like to eat mushrooms – cook them first... 

Mushrooms are packed with protein and nutrients and are an excellent choice if you’re trying to lose weight or eat less meat. Cooked mushrooms have 3 to 4 times the nutrients as the raw variety. That’s because cooking them removes the water and concentrates all the good stuff. 

Make sure to store your mushrooms in a paper bag – not plastic. That will prevent them from getting slimy. Also, don’t wash your mushrooms in running water. They absorb water like a sponge. Gently wipe them off with a damp cloth instead. They’ll also absorb any oil or butter you cook them in. For weight loss and more flavor – try cooking them in a bit of wine instead.
