A new study gives us yet another reason to LOVE it. Participants in the study who ate chocolate on a regular basis had lower body mass indexes, or BMIs – even if they consumed more calories and saturated fat than those who ate less chocolate.
So how much chocolate should you be eating? Those who indulged 5 times a week had a BMI one point lower than people who don’t eat chocolate. That translates to about 5 to 8 pounds less, depending on height and weight. And this wasn’t just dark chocolate. The study did NOT consider the amount or type of chocolate eaten, just frequency.
