A recent study from Ohio State says watching a tear-jerker can actually improve your mood for up to two days. According to Silvia Knoblock-Westerwick, psychologist and lead author of the study, watching a sad movie reminds us of close relationships, triggers feelings of gratitude - and prompts the brain into producing more mood-boosting hormones like oxytocin.
