Your dog gives you love, affection and loyalty. He might be giving you cavities too...

and dogs share some common species of bacteria which can lead to dental problems for the people and the pooch. The researchers paired up some people with their pets and compared germs. Sure enough, they had swapped a few. The dental bacteria we share with our dogs can lead to cavities and gum disease for all family members, even the furry one.

You don’t necessarily have to be kissed by your dog to swap germs, although that can expedite matters. Dog owners need to take special precautions to wash hands frequently after playing, handling toys, food dishes and water bowls and to give your canine’s teeth some attention too.
