The season your baby is born in can have lifelong effects...

Are babies born in the winter smarter than summer babies?

Maybe. Psychiatrists and anthropologists from Harvard and Queensland universities studied children from birth through age seven. They found that babies born in winter were significantly longer at birth than summer babies. By age seven, they were heavier and taller than their seasonal counterparts. They also had larger heads and scored higher in a a series of intelligence tests.

The study also found that babies born in the fall live the longest and suffer less illness in old age. Good news for summer babies. They tend to be happier with a brighter outlook than grumpy winter babies. Spring babies are most prone to illness - but they’ve got better eyesight than the others.
