Experts say low level exposure to traffic fumes is enough to raise the risk of lung cancer and suggest air pollution may need to be added as a recognized cause. According to scientists at the Danish Cancer Society Research Centre, traffic pollution was linked to a specific form of lung cancer which affects significant numbers of non-smokers. They also found a correlation between traffic fumes, air pollution and an increased risk of having a heart attack.
