Go ahead, friend your kids on Facebook...
A new study says teenagers who are connected to their parents through social media feel closer to them in real life. Connected kids also tend to be nicer, kinder and more generous with others if their parents were plugged in. However, there can be a downside. Parents who go overboard by posting and tagging too many pictures, commenting too much or connecting with their kids’ friends risk alienating and embarrassing their own kids. Some teens even say they’ll disconnect from a parent who spends too much time on social media.
