Birth rates are up in the Northeast, as Superstorm Sandy babies prepare to make landfall.
Some hospitals and clinics in the Tri-State area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut are reporting a boost in July and August due dates as high as 30%. Sandy hit the region at the end of October and it’s not hard to do the math. While howling winds, candlelight and plenty of time to snuggle can all be factors, it’s believed that limited access to birth control in the aftermath of Sandy also contributed to the perfect baby-making storm.
