Backseat Drivers

The next time you’re a passenger in a car - behave yourself.
Nobody likes a backseat driver - even if they’re in the front seat. A recent survey by Insurance.com suggests more women do it than men, with moms ruling the road from the back seat. They’ve also identified the most annoying behavior your passengers might display:

* Commenting on speed

* Providing unsolicited advice or directions

* Messing around with the radio

* Singing or talking too much

* Texting or talking on the phone

* Screaming, gasping or making faces

* Slamming on the imaginary brake

Bad Advice

Does your dentist say brush after every meal?
Most of us think our doctors know best. However medical guidelines are changing all the time and Reader's Digest has a list of some doctor's orders we can now ignore:

• Brush after every meal. That's bad advice. New dental recommendations are to RINSE after every meal and wait 30 minutes before brushing.

• Clean that cut or scrape with hydrogen peroxide or alcohol. Not anymore. Those can actually slow down the healing process and now we are supposed to be rinsing wounds with soap and water.

• Treat a fever with medication. That's old-school advice. A low-grade fever actually stimulates the immune system and helps us fight infection. Save the Tylenol for fevers over 102.

Grill Warning

Do NOT clean your grill - until you hear this warning.
Cases of a bizarre grilling injury are on the rise and you need to hear this warning. If you've got a wire bristle grill brush throw it out. Although they have been standard grill cleaning tools for a long time now, even more incidents of ingesting these wire bristles or fragments have occurred.

These bristles can break off the brush while vigorously scrubbing your grill. They wind up getting cooked into your food and pose a real hazard. Ingested bristles can do damage to the mouth or throat or even go farther down and wind up perforating the intestine.

Southpaw

Is your pet a righty or a southpaw?
We humans tend to favor one hand over the other and scientists say most animals do too. Female cats usually bat things around with their right paw while males prefer the left. Dogs are split about 50/50. Even creatures without hands show a preference. Some fish are right eyed, while others circle their prey to the left and most birds have a stronger or more coordinated foot.

It’s easy to determine if your dog or cat is a southpaw. Put something sticky like butter on it’s nose and see which paw they use to get it off. You can also put a treat under a bowl and watch which paw they prefer to poke at it with.

Zombie Workout

Have you ever wanted to run with the bulls? There's an app for that.
If your daily workout is monotonous or boring why not work some zombies into your routine? There are some new fitness apps specifically designed to take your workout to the next level with thrills, chills and entertainment:

• Zombies, Run! The lives of innocent people in a gated village depend on the success of your workout. While jogging for supplies you'll have to pick up the pace as zombies close in through this app.

• BullDash Takes your workout to Spain and just a horn's length away from angry bulls as you sprint down the narrow streets of Pamplona.

• Your body the car will accelerate with the Fit Freeway app. The faster you run, the closer to the finish line your race car will be.
