There are five types of doctors. Let’s find out which personality yours is...

How would you categorize your doctor’s personality?

According to Dr. Todd Rosengart, chief medical officer for Vitals, most doctors fall into one of five personality categories and it’s important that you and your doctor are compatible. Communication is an important aspect of your health care and it helps if you and your physician can relate to each other. Here are the five types:

• Dr. Sage: This is the favorite type of doctor. The Sage was preferred by 30% of those surveyed. This doctor is usually older and wiser with more experience. Patients tend trust and develop a personal relationship with Dr. Sage, especially older patients.

• Dr. Data will deliver the cold facts and give you what you need but is not very compassionate and won’t hold your hand. Dr. Data will be making more rounds with health care changes, like it or not, and is preferred by 8% of patients.

• Dr. No-Nonsense delivers the hard facts. This doctor won’t spend a lot of time with you but thrives on getting a precise diagnosis and treating you STAT. 18% of patients can relate to this doctor.

• Dr. Idealist is popular and preferred by 24%. This doctor is still young and wants to get to know you. With age and experience, this doctor will become Dr. Sage.

• Dr. Whole You: This is a down-to-earth alternative medicine doctor. These doctors are harder to come by but are very important for patients who are looking for out-of-the-box treatment.
